First, watching a runner duck run is awesome. They can find their own food. They aren't like pekins in water. Mine haven't started laying but I heard their decent.

Its not as fat and slow as a pekin, but its not frail either. I want a mallard but I don't want a flying bird. The rouen is great for that.

They are my calmest birds and are easiest to catch. They eat less than Pekins. I heard they also lay well, but mine are younger.

Your Rooster looks similar to my Mom's

But I think ours is an Ameraucana Mix, note the different comb, greenish legs and some muff. He is also big and heavy, so what ever he is mixed with was also big-he is very sweet! And expects to be picked up. He is a great rooster, you can turn your back and sit on the ground and never worry about a surprise rooster attack.

He has a buttercup comb so I would guess, if he isn't purebred, he's carrying Sicilian Buttercup in there somewhere...

Wow! Cute chick, & Cute Rooster!!!!!

Mama to thirteen chickens (Amy, Tilda, Lily, Adam, Esther, Junior, April, Ella, Sofia, Brett, Davie, Elsie, and Hayley. ). I lost my favorite chicken Nov. 25th 2012 to my cat Demi. She was a mix breed bantam. I also lost five White Silkies to a raccoon. two cats (Demi and Lulu), one Angus bull calf, (T-Bone), sister to seven siblings, and incredible daughter to one Grateful Daddy and Mommy.

i have 5 of those they are phillapineo standerd good birds they sell for about 30-50 ea but they have bad attatudes
