Silkies Of A Different Color - Page 75

how do u guys make porcleain silkies is it a lavender to a buff silkie or what would love to start a pen 

I realize this hasn't been posted on in awhile but I wanted to ask a couple questions and figured this would be the best place :).

This is one of my boys(I didn't breed him, he's from bought hatching eggs). He is about 8 months old now(These are recent photos as well). I know the photos are rather odd positions, but he looks very nice to me and I would like to take him to a show this year. I'm unsure if I could show him though due to his coloring, even under AOV, and if so what would be the correct term?

As a chick he was yellow with some black stripes, and at 2 months old he was still really light in color but starting to get some of the red. I could post pics if wanted.

I also have a young chick, about 7 weeks old, who is overall fairly grey but just starting to get some red and a little white on his back and wings. The lady I bought him from said he was probably a Cuckoo, but I bought him thinking he was more likely a Grey and hoping it was a pullet. It didn't have the red coloring when I bought it and I'm guessing it's a boy now.

I also got two Porcelains. I can post some pics of them later :).

So under Variety for a show entry form I would put something like AOV- Calico? Would this be acceptable? I know it's not a "real" color, but I would mostly want to enter him so that I can get experience with showing while my SQ White & Partridge juvies are still growing up. Thank you for the explanations and help :). I'm hoping to take him and his Buff hatch-mate brother to the next show I can find. It's nice to finally know what color I should call him. Thanks again and if I end up showing them soon, I'll try to remember to post the results :).
