Chickens in a Florida winter...what to do?

My daughter uses the radiant Sweeter Heater Infrared Heaters. They are very, very safe. We only turn them on if the temperature drops. The two little cross beak bantams who live alone get heat more often (they are both small and can't generate enough body heat to keep themselves warm enough if it gets terribly cold outside) than the larger group of 7 bantam hens and one rooster who live in a larger chicken chalet. We got the heaters for when they were babies and the red heat lamps weren't keeping them warm enough (and kept falling off or overheating or underheating, and of course those are more dangerous). The sweeter heaters are amazing, hang from the ceiling, and you can use a Thermo Cube to regulate the temperature (so the heaters only kick on below 35 degrees Fahrenheit or something). Bigger chickens, or larger groups of chickens, may generate enough body heat to be fine in locations where the temperature doesn't get super cold. The weather has gotten more extreme here locally, in the last couple of years, so it actually drops below freezing in parts of Central Florida.
