Google Maps - Scary, Too Much Information!

I was poking around this morning on Google and was shocked to see a recent overhead image of the homestead.  Up until recently, the image was from 2004, so no biggie.  The latest image was taken earlier this year and I think I'm embarassed!!!!!   You can clearly see the unfinished work I was doing in the yard,  the unfinished flower bed reconstruct, the patchwork of dead or recovering grass from moving the chicken run around, the half-painted things in the yard (oldest DD started, but didn't finish), and a lop-sided garden that I thought was fairly "square".  It's now Oct, and many are still "in-process" hide

I made the mistake of showing to the family, and I think my chore list just got extremely longer.........

You might want to check out your place......

I just looked the other day at mine. It is the same picture that I have seen the last five years. Will have to go see if it has been updated. The funny thing was I pulled up my sister's house in Wichita. You can do the zoom/little man thing and it will show the front of her house! I find that amazing. I think because she lives in a highly populated area that it will show that. Out here in the boonies no one bothers to look that closely....however, if they show the burn hole out behind my DSS's trailer I might get embarassed and have to have DH cover it up!

Oh my gosh!  I didn't google our place but I had a man show up at my door wanting to sell me a picture that was taken from the air.  I looked it over and saw basically the same things you speak of, unfinished hot tub surround, our grass before all the pet spots filled in, coop door hanging wide open, trash bag sitting by the pickup, coolers sitting in front of the camper, and the most sobering thing... me!  I was opening the door to go in the house.  My thought was, OMG I walk around out here in my nightie (and I have been known to dash from the back door to the camper in my panties when I leave my favorite shorts in there roll )  It disturbed me to realize that I am not as alone as I would like to think.

Based on the lack of chicken coops and other outbuildings our picture is probably at least 6 years old.  Really looks different than it does now!
Ours was taken in the spring ~ so everything is really nice & green (we live in the woods).

I found a more detailed and up to date photo on www.bing.com/maps

If Timmy had a German Shepherd he wouldn't have been in the well in the first place.

Ameraucanas, FBCMs, BOs, BLRW, EEs, bantam Cochins, Black Australorps, Speckled Sussex, Rhode Island Reds, White leghorns, and Bobwhite Quail.   1 Beagle, 2 German Shepherd Dogs, 1 cat, lots of honeybees,  2 grown daughters and a very handy and understanding husband!

A man in England at work took time out to look at his home on Geogle Earth just after it has been launched. In his drive was a blue car. They didn't have a blue car. He called his wife to accuse her of having a lover. The image was two years old and they had moved into the house just one year earlier.

On that site is the "old" picture (2004?) for our place - I want that image back!

That happened to my parents too.  Only their picture is really cool because when the plane flew over my dad was sitting outside on their deck and waved at the plane.  They got him smiling and waving!  Not too many people have pictures like that!  smile
