Thanks Bobby. I'd like to see all your chicks. love.gif The hens still don't want to share their chick with me. Looks like there's only going to be the two chicks hatch. This morning I was about to toss the other eggs when I heard chirping and saw a pip, so stuck it back under Gayla. This afternoon it still hadn't made it out but had piped all around the shell. I carefully pealed some of it off and stuck it back under her hoping it would make it out on it's own. I checked again a few mins ago while they were both off eating and it still hadn't made it out, so I finished peeling the shell off and stuck it back under her after they went back to their nest. Most came off easy but there's still a few very small pieces of shell on it because the shell and membrane had dried. I didn't want to wet it because I was afraid it would get chilled. I hope it makes it so the other chick will have a playmate.  fl.gif

hi everyone, sad news tonite, my little white frizzle passed in my hands- not sure really what happened- and i don't know what her age was, she began breathing hard and went into convusions, its been very warm here, and they were on the porch in their cage, and the guineas were racing up and down - could that could have stressed her??RIPangel.jpg

Remember that one lone chick I hatched a while back? She's seven weeks old now, and, although I can't get any sort of good picture of her right now, she's a real cutie. I'm working with handling her regularly so that perhaps one day she won't be so camera shy!

Robin, I'm sorry for your loss. hugs.gifWe sure can get attached to them and really miss them when they're gone. I wish chickens had a longer life span!!  sad.png

need another chick fix?  I met these chicks Saturday night when I got home from a show in Marietta.  They had a really hard time staying awake in the warm sunshine!

Hey, thanks I can always use a chick fix and those are some darn cute chicks!! love.gif I'll be glad when I have the room to hatch more. It's just not the same when they're under bloodies. The hens really don't want to share them with you but these two have been great and don't even growl at me now but the chicks run to mama instead of my hand. sad.png The one I had to help out of the shell is still alive but is soooo small. It stays under whichever mama is still. big_smile.png

Keep them chick pics coming!!
