Morning everyone, and thank you for the "American" serama thread. wink Just thought I would share that I have chicks hatching today. celebrate One late last night and woke to two more this morning. One more with a pip and 4 left (??).  fl Focusing on my other breeds I have only hatched a whopping 4 serama's this year. Three are a 2-3 months old in the barn and looking really well (and chocolaty). The other is only 4 weeks and still in the brooder. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that 3 of the 4 are boys!!!! he  Attaching a few pics of the parents (not great pics), for some reason these are the two birds that I just don't have good pictures of. hmm

All I want in this point of the game is to move the serama forward, it is not complicated, I do it for the breed not for my self!!

Two of my seramas are moulting right now, my hen lost her tail and some other little feathers and the roo has lost some wing and a sickle so far. They started 2 weeks ago, how long till they loose all the feathers they are gonna loose? Will they be fully feathered in by the end of september? My county fair is then and this is my last year in 4-h and I really want to show them.

I read somewhere they don't fully molt?  Is this true or was the information wrong?  I've never had one go through a full molt (my oldest Seramas are almost 2 years old) like my flock outside...they just lose feathers now and then. Can anyone shed light on this?
