This is an updated photo of my first SG that I hatched 8 weeks ago.  I call her (?) Earline.

Showgirl.jpg

These are her two Silkie siblings.

Although this is a step sibling (different set of eggs).

The difference between breakfast and chicks, is the temperature you use to "cook" the eggs!

What breeds do I have?  More than any sane person would own.

partidge showgirl (600 x 450).jpg

It has come time for me to choose a silkie rooster for my 2 Showgirl hens who are partridge. My choices are a partridge, blue splash or black, They are all so pretty, would you stick with the same color or mix it up? I have heard something about not mixing partridge because it dilutes other colors????

I would use either black, or partridge. I know splash to splash will dilute color, but I am not familiar with partridge.

And if the bird in the first pic is one in question, he is blue, not black.

Good luck with the babies!

thanks, now I will look like I know what I am talking about, LOL. So I guess that narrows it down to the partridge.
