Have any of you heard of the "Popular Front: SnowDays" snowflake-making website? I love occasionally going on there and occasionally making some flakes...It's a great thing to do during the holidays, too.

Here are some of my favorite flakes that I have created:

I used to have over 700 flakes, and I used to love making flakes all the time...I had about 10 different horse flakes, too. Those were my "specialty". But I started over and now only occasionally go on when I have the time.

And here is a website with a ton of information about snowflake-making basics, and more complicated techniques/designs to try out on the website.

If you have any/make any snowflakes, feel free to post them here! (All you do is search for your flake that you created, scroll over it to enlarge it, and then in the top left corner it will have a small "Save" button where you click it and save it to your computer. It will save as a picture and then you can just upload it to BYC!

Have fun and happy flaking!

Why thank you.

Visiting the www.misterx.ca website really helped me...Trust me, I was no where near making the flakes like I do now before I visited that website! It really helps!

And it also depends on what computer you use to "cut out" the flakes. I use a touch pad laptop, rather than a computer with a roller mouse or something. Those don't work very well for me. They make the curves look very jagged.

But I LOVE the straight line tool they added to the website.

I often use it for making curves, too.

And I draw them completely free-hand, besides the straight line tool of course. But no zooming in/templates or anything.

Thank you very much 77horses, I'm glad you enjoy Snowdays! I'm also glad you enjoy the straight line tool (polygon mode) that I finally installed into Snowdays. There's a "beta" version of Snowdays available at [SNOWDAYS DOT POPULARFRONT DOT COM]/beta that has improved smoothing options I'm experimenting with to allow smoother curves, etc.

Here's a link that will display all your flakes at the same time:

I found this forum via a Google search, so thanks again for spreading the word about Snowdays and I'll see you on the slopes!

Sincerely,
Code Guy

P.S. This forum prevented me from posting links since I'm a new user, so you'll have to interpret then copy and paste my links into a browser for them to work. Sorry!

P.S. One of my coworkers is planning on raising chickens in his back yard. If I wasn't renting an apartment I'd be with him without delay!
