Hi everyone!  This contest is for chickens of any age, breed and gender that have done something completely wacky or odd things!  A roo in a henbox, or a chick nesting in a feeder, and anything in between will be great!  Anything goes!

This contest will end December 20th.

Please include:
Chickens Name
Age
Gender
Breed
Odd Deed
Other (optional)

EXAMPLE:

Jasper
1 Year and 6 Months
Breed Unknown
He makes nests in henboxes for hens, cramming himself in.
We rescued him from our neighbor.

Not really wacky, but I thought it was funny.  These pics were taken within a few minutes of each other.

Abalone and Pearl
Both 6 months
Both female
Pure Ameraucana's

Think she'll notice if we steal her apples?

Who us?  We're not doing anything.  Really.

BTW.......What does the winner win?

Breeding Welsummers and Barnevelders.

Damien gets my vote! great pic - I wish I could catch mine while they play football with a mouse or small copperhead.

I have a RIR pullet named Hawk
age 10 mos
has her own dog, Vixey, a Belgian Malinois - dog shares treats and plays with her (no contact, lots of whining and flapping)

Hawk has learned the Play Bow to solicit play fights with dog

This little guy (Bantam Cochin) hatched, and then crawled back into the carton - not sure if he's just waiting for his sibling in the egg next to him to hatch, or just climbed up to get a better look around!  (You can still see the yolk sac on his belly!)

aw that's cute!

Mine tonight tried to get back into the eggshell from his hatchmate. I don't get that good of pix through my incubator windows though

ETA: Here's one of mine. not that unusual for hens to share the nest, but it's a funny pic nonethess.

3 Leghorn hens
almost a year old in the pic

One thing is for sure. The price of a dead hen is a dead pred.
