I have b/b/s and a few projects in the bantam orps. big_smile I am currently hatching some blues and blacks in hopes that a few make the grade to show next year.  fl

Me too, I prefer clean legged, though I did just hatch my first marans, some are clean and some feathered. Will probably rehome allot of them with feathered legs. Here in NC we have a wonderful dirt that is a dirt/clay mix and it can be pretty ugly when it's wet, sticks to everything including chicken feet. sad

Exactly - there are breeds i like - but to have to trim legs or faces - um not so much- I love and spoil my chickens but i draw the line at grooming them like a show dog!
I have been considering a bantam breed - but one with some substance and these guys fit the bill!

Right now I am hatching every egg they give me, both my b/b/s and project orps. fl

I have a small flock of blacks with an additional gorgeous splash rooster and just a few projects. I just hatched two adorable chicks, one blue and one black and have 18 eggs in the bator at the moment. smile

My splash and blue ladies were both BV at the Shawnee show. But, they were the only ones there of their variety. Dick Horstman looked at them and said they were nice, but he was more interested in my Barred Rock Bantams which were also from his eggs.
I ended up with a black Orp. bantam rooster so I can hatch some chicks this Spring! Can't wait.

Henthymes, that black hen is so cute. That's the reason I love the Orps. you have the cute, fluffy look without the feathered legs. My hen's feathers look like flouncy skirts that come all the way to their ankles. got to get some new pictures.

Showing Modern Game Bantams and Self Blue d'Anvers! We also have a small flock of pets/layers.
