This Light Sussex is trying it's best to confuse me!

I seem to be getting 50/50 votes on whether our LS is a roo or pullet. It's approx 16 week (though I'm not sure how accurate this is), the biggest of our 6 chickens, but also the most submissive, even the much smaller SLW bosses it around. WDYT? For what it's worth, the tail feathers are just growing in after they were pecked/plucked out before we got it (as were the SLW). I'm 99% sure it was bald/ plucked skin, not slow growing roo tail feathers.

Breeding Welsummers and Barnevelders.

 

Having an Icelandic in the coop is like having a 2 year old in the house - they are into everything and don't follow the rules.

Sorry, but I'm going to be odd man out. I'm voting roo. The hackle feathers are really pointy, and I think I see curved tail feathers coming in. JMHO. I could be wrong, been known to happen before. Keep us posted!

Buncha Outdoor PET chickens, ducks, two Toulouse ganders, and four turkeys. Plus 2 wiener dogs, some bunnies and a rescue cat which owns me. Oh. And a house silkie....

Pullet!
