My breeding Dutch paints to white and/or black Americans was to add new blood to my paints. Done at the suggestion of Sigrid vonDart. My paints come directly from the Netherlands and are from countless generations of paint to paint matings. Those few american/dutch crosses (a one time cross) will be mated to my paints, I don't plan to do this continously, just wanted this touch of new blood. Currently averaging 60% paint offspring from my paint to paint matings. I'm no genetics expert, but my take/opinion on this is, if you continously mate paint to black you dilute the paint gene and your percentage of paint chicks will decrease.
