weasels in georgia?

ok now ya'll have me scared with all these posting of weasels.do we have them in georgia?i have never seen one or heard of them here.i am assuming we don't since we don't have a huntin season form them.lol
 
Yes, you do have weasels in Ga. the long tailed weasel. I just googled weasels in Georgia, It brought up the Georgia wildlife federation website you can even see a pic of one.

I was fishing the Toccoa between Suches and Morganton this weekend, and a gorgeous black mink trotted along the other bank about 30 feet until it disappeared into the brush overhanging the river.
 
Apparently we have them in Florida too, but luckily I have never seen any. But I don't think they are as common here as they are in other parts of the country. Good luck...
 
I have lost several chickens over the last six weeks and am pretty sure it is a weasel killing them at night. I am trying to shore up my chicken house. It is really sad to see my babies lying there half eaten😡
 
If your night time coop is fortified with hardware cloth and has no open gaps or holes, you have efficiently protected your chickens from weasels.
They are nighttime hunters.
Read some of the other posts on this site about folks over run with rats. Now they dont have weasels or have eradicated them on purpose. Weasels are a farmers friend, keeping rodent populations down.
And by the way, most people do not see there weasels. They are very good at not being seen.
i have a tight secure coop and I happily live with my weasel.
