This is what i do. Big feeder for feed, two smaller ones for grit and oyster shells.IMG_4610.jpg

2 Ameraucana Rooster, 2 Rhode Island Red Hens
2 Barred Rocks Hens, 2 Partridge Rocks Hens.
2 Black Australorp.2 Black Sex-Links Hens.
8 Easter Egg Hens, 5 Ameraucanas .
1 Blue Cochin,2 SL Wyandottes,2 GL Wyandotte.
1 White Leghorn, 1 Speckled Sussex
2 Guinea Hens Royal Purples.
3 Peacocks India Blue,Black Shoulder,Silver Pied 1 Jade Spalding & BS Peahen
2 Royal Palm Turkeys
2 Rottweilers,1 Male...

OMG. I never thought about this. I have been feeding the oyster shells and recycled eggshells as grit for weeks. My eggs are all nice and solid lau.gif

 

However, i haven't noticed any change in their digestion or poop. But then I also liberally sprinkle sand into the pen for water dranage/dustbathing/something to make the nosey old women come running over like it's christmas, lol. My habit has been to alternate between granite and oyster shells each time I buy feed. I guess I'll be buying an extra dispenser this week.....
