When do local feed stores sell baby chicks? - Page 2

My fav feed store sells chicks earlier AND later than other local ones around her: from the second week of Feb to the third week of Oct.

Buncha Outdoor PET chickens, ducks, 5 Toulouse geese, and 7 turkeys....so far. Plus 2 wiener dogs, 2 bunnies, a rescue cat which owns me and a new kitten. Oh, yeah: and a house silkie....

I am in Southern California.  The feed store I normally go to carries LF chicks year round, but the selection is more limited in the winter.  The owner said they won't be getting any bantams until Spring.  They get a shipment of LF pullets every Wednesday this time of year, so I was able to get three chicks today for one of my two broody cochins.

my feed  store  stalks me  because it seems like every time i hatch or get chicks  they have them  SAME AGE as mine  on the 21st of dec they just got 100 RIR/EE/BA 's

if it moves and is smaller than them, they will give it a try.  Think tiny velociraptors

Hello,

I'm in Maine... I get my chicks from Mt Healthy through a local feed store and they have shipments that you can order from on two different dates-- Either May or June.... But you have to order a month ahead of time.

My best friends: 30 some odd chickens (BO, BR, GLW, Red Sexlinks, some 1/2 BO, 1/2 any of those breeds), 2 horses (Standardbred, Standardbred Appy X), 2 dogs (Lab x Golden Retriever and Aussy mix), and 2 cats.

Here it is the same, but the chicks are from Cackle.  It is mainly used when someone wants fewer than 25 chicks needed for your own order.

Currently Buckeye LF, BBS Ameraucana LF, Speckled Sussex LF, and the odd Delaware, Welsummer, Jaerhon, and/or Buff Brahma Bantam.  We want SQ Speckled Sussex LF, please contact me.

I know! I can't wait until they have chicks around here!!

Chickens are like potato chips, you can't have just one!

Hens: 1 Buff Orpington & 1 Leghorn.         Pullets: 1 New Hampshire Red, 1 Light Brahma, 1 Speckled Sussex, & 1 Partridge Rock.
