Thanks, I'm having fun with them.

I totally agree with not having to look far to find someone to help and I think its a great idea. I was just reading their catalog and they have a quote from a customer that was about to take 6 doz eggs to a food ministry for distribution. This got me thinking about how food safety laws might apply and that some organizations might take stuff that they can't actually give away so as not to seem ungrateful or because the people doing the receiving don't know? In which case it would be a shame and would've been good to know beforehand so one could do as you say and give the eggs/meat away privately.
 
my Meyer birds go into incubation at the hatchery Monday!! Finally! I ordered my chicks in January and choose a April 11th hatch because of the warming weather and smaller amount allowed. I'm so excited! I have coming 7 female Barred Rocks, 1 suprise breed female production layer( MMMF) 1 Female Golden Cuckoo Maran, and 1 Female Silver Penciled Rock. I pray they all make the trip!!! Three months is a awful long wait. I didn't think it would seem so long at the time, but it's seemed like forever! I'm very excited :)

How exciting! Ive had my chicks ordered from meyers for several months as well, but mine wont arrive until the week of April 26th. Cant wait to hear what your suprise chick is!
