how long do eggs stay fertile?

will they still be hatchable after 1 week? 2 weeks? 3 weeks?

as long as an egg is fertile when it is laid, it will always be fertile. Generally, the older the egg, the worse the hatch rate. But I have had broody hens hatch eggs that were as old as one month

Well,  a hen will usually lay a clutch of 10 eggs to sit on so they stay fertile for at least that long (10 days).    I don't really know after that.

Well here is a wonderful publication from the Mississippi State Univ AG department concerning incubation.  It talks about proper storage, and how long you can store.

link doesnt work for me..i get a window pop up saying this file is damage or corrupt and could not be opened sad
