When do roosters start trying to mate?

I thought that I had six hens but ended up with two roosters who have both started to mate with my girls. One male actually chases the other sometimes. I do not know what to do with them because the dominate male attacks only me every time I try to go outside. Can someone please help me. I tried picking him up and holding him for a bit and he calms down but then tries to attack me when I put him down and it does hurt. lol. I have to put on my husbands ACUs so he cant scratch me up.......HELP

4 hens isn't enough for 2 roosters.
The rooster that attacks will taste just like chicken.

He would be dinner.... I had one that would act like he wa going to get tough with me but the last time he tried I pushed down on his back (not to hard but enough to hold him still) a couple of times and he stopped. He's at the top of the pecking order and thinks you are part of the "clan" so he's trying to let you know he's in charge, you can try that and if it doesn't work you have a meal! I hope it works out for you :)

I have a young cockerel, who is only about 6 -5 months old. he isn't crowing, and isn't breeding. He just now started to grow in his sickle feathers. He acts like as hen, but lets me pick him up. why does he not start crowing, or mating? Help!!!

I have an 8 week old buff orpington rooster that is not crowing but I saw him straddling my one and only bantam today. I don't even know yet if the banty is a he or a she. I got them at the same time and he has always been very protective of the banty. They do everything together.I just worry that are will hurt the banty because of the size difference.

I have a question. How many roosters can live together without fighting? Sounds silly, but I don't want them to injure each other. Also is it normal for the rooster to bite the hen's comb?

It's impossible to say. It depends on the hen:rooster ratio, breed, size of the foraging area, individual personalities and if they grew up together.

Yes normal if they do so when trying to mount.
