New Anti-Spam System

I may have been added to the spam or a newbie group by accident ( I have over 1500 posts) because I can't access any features from ie9, ff or chrome. I'm posting from AOL and can access features from here.

On the other ones I can sign in but otherwise am treated like a visitor. I'd much prefer to come in with ie9. I've cleaned up the cache and temps and gone over the computer with a fine tooth comb with a more computer savvy person than myself with no improvement.

If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it

Had one spam on my IE and I successfully deleted it. I even had one that was a virus but luckily, my spyware caught it and deleted it to cyberspace somewhere out there. I am guessing once the new BYC was up and running, those ugly spammers and virus wreckers would take advantage of our vulneribility of nagivating the new forums and threads in here.

Pays to be extra careful now!

I think it is wonderful that you are trying to protect the site, so I guess I am going to have a lot of reading to do. Hard for an old brain to comprehend but will give it all I've got.

Thanks

This is kind of a pain for those of us that are new. I have to say that it makes that site significantly less useful.

considering that I have been a member for nearly a year and am still unable to post

Actually this process / system is no longer relevant. We no longer are blocking spammers this way any more. If you are having problems posting please start a new topic with VERY detailed answers to these questions:

• What is the URL of the page that you got the error or had problems?
• Did you receive any error messages? if yes, what were they (please copy and paste the entire message, screenshots are best)?
• What were the exact steps you took before having the problem? Please be as specific as possible so we can do exactly what you did.
• How long has it been happening? If only one time, what day and time did it happen?
• Which browser and version are you using (eg., Firefox 3.5.9, Internet Explorer 7, etc.)
• Have you logged out, deleted your internet cache, logged back in, and tried again?
• Have you tried a different browser?
• Have you tried a different computer?
