I live in Kempner sort of near Austin, in Central Texas. I ordered 10 Barred Rocks from Ideal! Yea!

And now we have one more in the central Texas area. I am in San Marcos.

I have a couple of Barred Rocks I got from Ideal this spring, and they are growing nicely. Do you pick yours up ? I always make a road trip to Cameron when I order from them.
 
We were, but my dad decided not to, because it was just so much easier for us for them to come here. We wouldn't have had much time to go to Cameron.

That's quite a few. I hardly ever see any Texan's selling egg or chicks though. Someone wanted to give away a free rooster, VERY gorgeous, but they live in Indiana. I'm starting to raise Barred Plymoth Rocks, so if anyone wants some eggs in a couple months, look me up.

Haha! I thought I was the only one crazy enough to drive over 2 hours to Cameron to pick up my chicks. Maybe we should organize a carpool next year, Carla! What do you guys do when you get there? We ate lunch at the "Texas Burger", but didn't find too much else to do.
 
We usually just drive to Ideal, then drive back. I hate to leave the birds in the car if we go in to eat. However, a drive thru meal would be OK.

Don't know if anyone noticed in BST, but I have a Spitzhauben cockrel and pullet 3 months old I need to get rid of. They both have curled toes, and I cannot use them for breeding. Otherwise, they are a nice representation of the breed.

I also have two more Spitzhauben cockrels available from the same hatch.
