Do baby chicks carry lice?

I was told this morning that baby chicks can carry lice. Is this true? And if so what can be done about it. I was told about a type of tablet that you put in the water.

Wife/Mother/Grandmother/Mini Farmer to 4 barking dogs, 7 spoiled Assorted Chickens, 1 White turkey, to many RingNeck Pheasants to count..........and lovin' every minute of it <3

Only if they have been in contact with adults or the outdoors.  Chicks that have been hatched in an incubator and live indoors should not have lice.
