welcome-byc.gif to all the new people! frow.gif it is that time of year... my guess there will be more new people soon.

The Wyandottes... I better not go to Gallatin... I have over 100 chicks and more going into lock down tomorrow. Where they just pullets?  hide.gif   My eggs from HappyMtn are at the post office... can't wait to see what she sent me woot.gif The batch of eggs I last set were 220 strong.... I did that so could have some to sell at the trade days. Now if they will all hatch or most.... I will be set.

Donna are you going to Trade Days in Murfreesboro on 4/14?

I think we should have our meet up there it would be fun and we could really have a turn out of sellers that way!

Not really a prepper, but a beginning prepper. We're just starting to accumulate some things. We have about 3 mths of canned stuff from last years garden. along with a few canned goods and dry goods. I already had the weapons. I used to hunt, i just never got rid of them. thinking of getting some talapia to put in a small pond.( wifes idea after a prepper show the other night). Thinking about a shelter....

I'm still trying to figure out what kind i want , Thanks for the info and offer, i may just take you up on it. Seems like everywhere i look the minimum to buy is 25 i really dont want that many right now. maybe later i'll get some more once i figure out which breed i like most. How many different breeds do you offer? I do think i want about 5 to 7 hens and 1 rooster. Thats about all i think i can afford to house for now. I plan to hatch some chicks for dinner and such, once i get set up. How long does an average chicken take to get to good eating size? i was guessing about 6 months ?

Sure I can go to that.  If this batch of 220 eggs hatches well.   Sounds like your incubator is working out well.

Do you mean a Middle TN BYC meet up?  that would be great!

Local Coops sometimes have Buy Sell Trade days for small animals.  The one in Murfressboro is doing one once a month till June.  They are really all over I am sure.  You are in Springfield... they have a big Coop and I might should call and see if they are having one.
