If you don't want to see all the nasty pics, definitely do not flip through the top section (I did not).  Just get the facts and decide if you can help rescue critters.  :)  They will be at the fairgrounds, presumably with the huge group of dogs just rescued from Wilson County.

I saw that on the news last night....  told hubby I wanted the chickens and rabbits!  LOL

If you look at the pics, there is one of a worker and a cat having a standoff on a roof... I wonder who won..LOL

we have some Old English Game Bantams not sure if you are willing to drive that far to get them...we live in white county so it would be a 2- 2 1/2 hour drive

Does anybody in middle TN have legbar chicks or hatching eggs for sale? For some reason I've got this idea I have to have some. The addicition worsens......

Becky what do think about the Birchen Marans ? Can't you make the Birchen by crossing Black Copper with the Silver Cuckoo

Anyhow, I am sure there are others here with different experiences and opinions.  That's just my own preference from the five years of chick hatching I have done.

The biggest issue I have faced with my birds surrounds the "coop drama" from housing different breeds together.  I have raised many different breeds of large fowl and bantams, and now that I have thinned down the flocks to one breed per pen (plus silkies), things are so much more calm and enjoyable - - no feather picking, no pecking and chasing, no fights, no feeder bullying, minimal nest box drama.  Just something to think about as you are exploring different breeds.

Good luck!

I also have one breed plus silkies per pen and they get along pretty well....hope I didn't just jinx myself

I will have Legbar hatching eggs by the end of August or first of September.  My legbars are going on 17 weeks now.  I will have Rhodebar hatching eggs then, too.  The wait is killing me!  fl.gif
