wild goose thread...

The bird in the first pic was solitary, but only 30 yards or so from the birds in the other pic. It appeared twice the size of the Canada geese. One of my coworkers thinks it's an escaped domestic goose. I'll bring binoculars next time.

If its twice as big as a canada goose, I am sure it must be a swan. Domestic geese tend to weigh more than canadas, but the body shape is totally different than your picture, and they don't look as large. Was the bird pure white or gray?

Hello lovely pics and great thread! We are in the UK near Cambridge and currently have some embden geese. We are interested in finding out more about whether we can keep either Ross or barnacle geese. Is this possible or are they only wild? Thank you! Harriet X
