Black copper maran pair for sale. Are they worth the price???

Sounds like the pair might not have been as good as he was saying if he was that way about a sale.

I just got my BC Maran last weekend. I got her locally on an ad. I was lucky. She charged me 20 for the Maran and 15 for the Silkie. That would have been a good deal for you! You should have seen my DH's face when I said I was going to drive 35 min. to pick up a chicken! I kept saying, "look, I know you aren't in love with chickens, but this is a rare bird!" You are making me thank my lucky stars. I know MPC still has Cuckoos, I don't know about BCMs. The advantage to buying an adult chickens is that you get to look at them before you buy vs. chicks, come in eggs and pretty much is it however the hatchery breeds them. (Sometimes they come out funny looking, not show standard for sure.) I would wait and see, in Nor Cal Marans pop up once in a while on Craigslist. Good Luck!

I probably would have paid the extra if he had contacted me & given me firt choice. I would have expected a call or email saying something like 'I got another offer - do you still want them...'

oh well - it was going to be trouble anyway - I would have had tons of mixtures of chickens to get them to lay cool colored eggs.
