I was told I have an exchequer leghorn and she just laid her first egg and it isn't white either.
her egg is the brownish one.

your hen is not even a leghorn. It's an mottled orpington, something else or a mix.

I'm new to raising chickens and that is what I was told. Well thanks for the info.
It does not look like a mottled leghorn at all. Mine layed large white eggs.

Here is another pic.
With the newer pictures it looks like it has yellow skin on toes/soles? If it really has yellow skin then maybe it's a mottled java as orpingtons are a white legged breed.

Yes, my Dot does have yellow feet and soles. Her legs have black spots. Thank youfor the link.
