Hi, Blue!
It's a bit of a stunner when they get into double digits, isn't it? Kinda bittersweet; they aren't little kids any more.
Tell your daughter I said,
DS is 16 today. He's excited about being old enough to drive on his own, of course, but I'm a good bit less thrilled. After all, I'm the one who's been petrified in the passenger seat while he's been driving with his permit.
I'm not saying he's that bad, as new drivers go; it's that the traffic around here is that bad. Seriously, Wilmington has had the worst accident rate in the state for many years now. If you want to go anywhere from my house, you have to drive on a road that is locally notorious for the number of crashes on it. I want to get a bumper sticker made that would read, "Pray for me, I drive on Market Street"!
And Sour, it's a gray day here, too. Unfortunately, it isn't raining. I really wish it would. April is historically a dry month around here, and this year is no exception. It's also the peak of fire season, and there have been a couple of notable wildfires in this area already this year. During the first 5 years that we owned this place, there were 6 fires either on our property or one adjacent to it. I remember calling DH one evening when he was on his way home and telling him, "as you are coming up the road to the house, it's gonna look like we're on fire again. Don't worry, it's the lot behind us."
