I need brooder ideas ....

That is about the size of mine, we had used it previously for a whelping box for one of our dogs, then we enclosed the top with a door and it is now a HUGE brooder.. it takes up half of my dining room.

I only have 17 chicks currently in it, but by weds there should be over 30

I think this would work, just would be a lot more expensive than the same size/dimensions plywood box. I have looked into something similar to make a cat litterbox hidden area. Just not very inexpensive, even when they are "cheap".

Nope, don't get it. Come build it for me! LOL
Yes, draw me the idea. I am trying to picture it and think I may have it but you know I can't build as good as you do!

I have seen these....maybe somewhere on here. It could work great! And some folks use old dressers, too.

I am fortunate that my DD is cutting back on her Guinea Pigs and I get her 2x4 plastic tubs. A bit used but I have duct tape!

So now for temporary use I have to set these on barrels or something in the brooder room and that will tide me over until I get all the different age brooders built and prepared. By then I may have to take a break.......Hawaii is looking good.

Hey! I'm new to chick raising and I love the little fuzzbutts! There's a huge walk I wardrobe in my room and its built into my wall. There's a fouple of small cupboards at the bottom, I sawed most of the door off and replace it with welded mesh. I putin a cardboard tray and lined it with pine shavings too. Then I putin the chooks water and food bowls. Andcof course some toys and perches. Ieven made them there own nesting box! Lol! Thyvlovecit in thre! I can watch them all day! Hope this givesyou some ideas!

After 2 years I pretty much have all mine in place and continue to up grade constantly. I hatch at least a dz chicks a week during the winter and in the summer it is around 400-500 a month sometimes. I can't possibly keep all those in my house. I have a nice big brooder room down at my barn with lots of different brooder cages, tubs and pens.
