Chickens won't stop squawking loudly for no apparent reason

By my understanding, this forum only accepts pictures, which isn't hugely useful for this case. People typically upload their video to youtube and link to it on this forum.

Alternatively, do you have a link to the video that you found on here?
Hi @Battlepants , managed to upload my video. Here's my little girl. Rescued her when she was an abandoned chick.

Oh dear... sorry... do let me know if the new link works. Thank you. 😀
I get that sound from my flock too. I'm thinking it some food related call because my lead hen does this when she sees me and the rest of the hens run out to watch me through the fence (expecting food/treats). Went into the coop and fed the little ones, heard the same call from several of them too.

I'm honestly thinking she's just calling out "there's food here" out of instinct to attract the rest of the flock.

Oh your flock does that too? I did think she was calling out to the rest of the flock (which doesn't exist). But she still calls out after she's had a few pecks, even when she's not eating or if she's just sun bathing. I did experiment by pecking on her food together with her and she took turns to peck with me. I'm just worried about the sound she makes even when she's not eating. Btw she's not eating much these few days and I can't bring her to her regular vet who is away till next Monday. I'm not sure what triggered her to make these noises either. Am quite desperate for someone to tell me she's alright... thanks so much though @Battlepants for sharing. I really appreciate that very much.

Some are just chatty. Agreed. We had a chick that was a rooster. You’ll know when he cockadoodledoo. Other than that they talk. Loudly. Laying talk. Warning talk. Making sure her friends are close. Etc. good luck. Neighbors can be pests!
