Eastern Tennessee Thread

I see a general and a middle Tennessee thread but not one for Eastern Tennessee? Seems like a lot of folks in the other two are actually from Eastern Tn. Sooooo, I thought I would just start one. I know I for one would like to have a local source for info, buying, selling, trading, etc....

I live just outside Newport in Cocke County.

Love your little tractor design btw. Just as soon as I get enough post on here to be able to fill out my profile page, I will be posting the pics of our shed conversion to start real soon.

Thanks.
We dismantled it and turned a shed into a coop. lol
We used the tractor sides for building the runs. Now I have 5 runs so that I can keep breeding groups seperate.
There's a poultry show in Cocke County may 7th. If you don't have birds by then, there will be a variety fo birds for sale there. Grown birds as well as chicks. Maybe not the breeds you're looking for, though. There's no telling what birds will be there!

Hey everyone!

I'm in Eastern Virginia and about as far South as one can go before you end up in North Carolina. Everyone around here calls it simply "Carolina", which strikes me as strange since I'm originally from SOUTH Carolina!  "Waaaay back when" the two (now states) were one territory called Carolina, so I sometimes wonder if this nickname stems from that.

Anyway, I'm subscribed to several of the state and region threads so I can network with people close enough to drive to pick up and/or drop off birds, eggs, or other items.  I look forward to seeing what other people are raising. Currently I have hatchery pure breds and some mutts. Hopefully I will get my first breeder quality eggs in the very near future.

Born in SC, living in VA near NC. Mother of 3 human children and lots of Feathered Babies! Wife to a fantastic, patient Husband (who finally admits some of these birds have personality)!  There is no such thing as coincidence.  God has a sense of humor.  You have been warned!

I'll probably have mine by then...but I will def. be there anyway. I wish I could afford just to build another shed up closer to the house for storage, then I could use ALL of the 7x14 we have in the back of the property and divide it up to keep all the purebreds separated. I might try that....If i'm still alive when the show is here; then you know my fiance did not kill me for pulling that one off roll

You guys want to do a road trip down for that show?, i'll def. meet you there.
