yuckyuck.gif  Nice cabinet work! I too have file cabinets 5 drawers in all. Right now 0 have paper work in them. Important papers are in the safe and bills are shatters across my desk! The drawers seem to catch everything but paperwork! Mostly computer junk dvd's games, cables, extra keyboard mice ect... Looking like I need to call the hoarders expert lol.

@ stang Wow that is a nice cabinet. I occasionally try my hand at woodcraft but rarely finish anything...now the dw just roll.png whenever I announce a new project.

Well, I am really proud of him, he always tries to finish the things he says he will. One thing I can't stand is he's an engineer and seems to think he can make anything and everything I ask for, it acctually bugged me for a while there since he's not the quickest builder, we have limited space and limited income... I'll go out there and he'll be sitting with a piece of paper and a pencil doing calculations for where things are supposed to go by exact increments. He'll sit there and make sure he accounts for the blade width and everything gig.gif

Follow Andrew Johnson Hwy for I guess 12-15 miles (I am not good guessing distance but would take about 20 min from Jeff City). You will see signs for the park. You will turn left and go a few miles and the park is on the right. You can't miss it! Hope this helps!

Correct Exit # is 417.

Since I last posted,

Dad had been dying to hatch some chicks,

so he took an order for 100 chicks that came off Monday,

They were supposed to hatch Sunday but all day long had 3 chicks,

just before bed had 2 more hatch out making a total of 5.

Woke up Monday morning and had a Total of 9.

Went to work and came home and had a total of 121.

Did not realize how UN PREPARED barnie.gifI was for that many chicks at one time.

So we quickly set up the smaller brooder and got them out and watered them.

Tuesday morning I to him to go ahead and deliver 70 of them and he could take the rest on Wednesday.

Total hatched was 135.

The 100 pre-sold were Barn Yard Mixes

We also has some BLRWD over Cuckcoo Marans just to see what we would get.

Also had some RIR and some FBC Marans.

Each time we go to sell everyone has been asking if we have banties.

Well I finally gave in and made a deal on 7 dozen hatching eggs that are supposed to be here on Saturday.

Going to restart the GQF on Sunday with about 90 bantam eggs and 40 FBC Marans eggs.

Still working on getting my numbers down to a managable number.

Have started using dog kennels for pens after I extend them an extra 15 feet.

I wind up with a pen that is 8 feet by 29 feet hope that each is big enough for about 10 Hens and 1 Roo and not have a MUDDY mess that I have had to deal with all winter.

Goals for 2012 .

NOT HAVE 500 hens, roos and chicks at any one time.

Not have mud that is knee deep to the Jolly Green Giant

Work on reducing number of breeds (17 last year) to about 3 for large frame and 3 for bantams.

Hope Everyone is having great hatches.

stanglover - that filing cabinet is beautiful!  I have an engineer husband too (a nuclear engineer, but don't think that doesn't mean he doesn't break out that engineering mindset on non-nuclear related stuff!) who is currently hemming and hawing over building a chicken tractor this weekend.  We're talking something simple out of PVC and chicken wire, not anything fancy.  I have to keep telling him that this is like playing with Tinker Toys and to not make it more difficult than it needs to be.

We're moving our ducklings up to a bigger brooder this weekend.  Every morning they look like they've doubled in size overnight!  They're a couple of weeks old, so we tried them outside for a few hours the past couple of days and they've been having a blast.  I have one of those hexagon baby fences that they've been thrilled to run around in while I work on potting up my tomatoes right next to them.  They snapped up every bug that landed in the various water dishes we've put in there for them.  They seem to only want to do any actual swimming in the bathtub though; not outside for whatever reason.

We let the chicks outside for the first time yesterday.  They played with a couple of earthworms (I moved the baby fence into the garden where I had just amended the soil in one of my beds, so the wormies were up and moving around), but they didn't actually eat them.  (I don't know how they could; the worms are HUGE compared to the little chickies.)

We're still in discussion about how we're going to do our coop and duck hut.  Between my dad the wood semi-expert (as in, he's good with the power tools and all, but I'm not so sure he's ever officially FINISHED a project) and my husband who has the AutoCAD out to build a simple box-shaped coop with a box-shaped run, this should be interesting.  I'm doing my best to just keep to my tomato plants!  ;)

1 husband, 3 kids, 3 chickies, and 2 ducks.  And one very busy mommy.

Well I have had my incubator running too.  I have 9 new babies (which pales in comparison to 135). ep.gif  4 Isbars and 5 English Orps. Just wanted to share the photos.

The kids and I are planning on coming on Sunday too! (May also bring another friend with me since DH is working.)  Looking forward to meet you all!  Not sure what I am going to bring yet since I am not to good in the kitchen.

How many young kids are coming? I might bring stuff for and egg hunt (thought that might be fun.)   I also plan on bring my camera for the group photo!

Eng. Orps-This was my 3rd and final try at hatching a splash orp. I give up! barnie.gif I guess I am only meant to have black and blue.
