@TnBarnQueen

I only saw ONE person selling D'Uccles I THINK because he had them in a pet carrier and I could only see flashes. There were no other birds that you sell that I saw there except silkies and they were snatched up quickly. I think your polish would do wonderfully. Not sure on the smaller breeds as I'm not in to them (yet) but I didn't notice a lot of them. If you bring hens or trios I think you would do well. And chicks. Just don't bring all roos like I did (and quite a few others).

I'm going to give these guys another chance either at the Flea Market or Craigslist and see if someone else wants a go at them!

I had a hard time last year getting rid of my 22 extra roos. I found a guy last year to trade my BCM and EE's roos. 2 of my roos for 1 of his golden comets and RIR pullets. Then a few months ago I sold them. I didn't make money on them. But I did get a lot of eggs from them for a while. I have 59 chicks atm. BCM{FS} and olive egger's. I will be selling off the extras as well as some of my 1-2 year olds to make room. End goal to keep it under 30. Ticks are bad this year so extra chickens on the ground may help out. I weeded down to 11 hens and 1 rooster. But I see lots of babies I like the look of so I'll be trading out some EE's for the new ones.Trade the mint green eggers for olives ;-) I'll post new picks of them after I move them into the kiddie pool. I have them all separated right now. I'm still haveing a hard time telling the blue copper marans from the blue EE's!

All of these are blue olive eggers except 3 blue copper marans and 2 butter colored ones. I cant tell who is who.

So I will wait till they are older and I will be able to tell. I hope LOL

Hey guys, anyone looking to buy a bird cage? I'm thinking of selling the one I have. It's a nice sized cage I've been using to raise chicks in for a while (3-4 chicks for maybe a week until they get too big), now I'm using tubs and such and it's in the way! $75 it's made for a cockatiel sized bird and looked on petsmart and looks like they start at $150 and go up. It has a stand and storage on the stand, easy to put together and just throwing the idea around. Message me if interested otherwise it'll probably just keep it in my closet. roll.png

Here's a photo of some SLW chicks in it, doesn't show the outside very well but you get the idea of how much space it has.

Good morning everyone!

Does anyone have any silkies or silkie mixes for sale at the moment? My friend decided after meeting my silkies this was the breed she wants as a first time chicken owner. She already has her coop set up and just wanted maybe 2 or 3 to keep in her fenced in backyard.

Just ordered 25 cornish broilers, supposed to get them between tomorrow and Friday. If someone wants a few let me know, I ordered 25 because it was cheaper.

 So, in the morning I have 4 ladies coming to live at my house, 2 black Orpingtons, a EE and 1 buff Orpington. I can have 2 more--anyone have 2 Delawares, Austrlopes, buff Orpingtons ( or another breed that is calm, docile and lays large to medium eggs) at point of lay hens or just laying you want to sell?

 I'm glad this is finally happening, we ordered a coop 2+ weeks ago, was told it would be ready in one week, and look like a log cabin. So not what we were told-not supported correctly, not finished, mixed treated and untreated wood, a real mess. When we got home my husband began to build a roof over the back section of the barn when there is a indention and a concrete floor. The roofs done but the two screened sides, nesting boxes being hung and roosts being hung will have to be finished tomorrow.  This will hold all until a coop can be built, They have more volume/area now than they will in a coop 10x6x10 tall. they'll just have to hold on a bit for the grass run. Even longer to get the electric fence back up around our 2 acres,hopefully Jay-jay will keep out the next door's dogs. That would have happen this weekend, but I guess I should not cry (howl) over split milk or in my case a wrongly constructed, unfinished coop. Lesson learned? Wait to buy chickens until the coop is in your yard, LOL.

Until 18 weeks or you see an egg, whichever comes first. (if you use medicated..then 4 weeks on that and the rest on non-medicated)

Edited.... I should say if you are talking about layers, meaties is a different story
