I think Littlechicklet should organize the next get together! big_smile.png It's easy littlechicklet, you take a majority vote of when everyone has the least amount of stuff going on and find a place for us all to get together! We usually do Sat or Sun, with Sunday being a late lunch for church goers.

you got nominated by asking about it... muahahahhaha~

Hannah - Married to my very patient husband (who wishes I wouldn't own so many creatures), 1 diluted calico cat, 5 mini lops (I may have babies for sale so check my website out!), 4 mini rex, 1 Cochin Roo Frederick, 2 cochin pullets (1 frizzle and 1 standard) Frizz and Frazz, 1 cochin hen, 2 black australorp hens, and 1 deleware hen Ninja.

I am afraid you are nominating the ADHD one by choosing me.  I usually spin in circles at home trying to clean lol.png  My husband jokingly says I can't sit still long enough to watch a movie or walk by the kitchen sink without doing a dish!

wife to dh, one son, 2 cats, 1 American Bulldog, 1 Mini Schnauzer, I mutt, mixed flock, 10 LF Buff Orps & 15-20 LF bbs Orps (will be thinned down).  I do not hustle or sell & rarely buy.  I am just trying to get a couple of nice flocks of Orps & maybe show one day.  My progress is slow, my funds are limited and quality will always come before quantity.

Some friends of mine that live in Englewood used to have goats, I'm not sure if they still have any now, but they have a miniature donkey. I'm trying to do research on goats to see if it is something I want to do because I would like to have a doe so that I can actually use the milk to make cheese.

I think I know who you are talking about... they live right on the highway? I got two goats from them before. Those two went out to another person's home. They were untamed and he had much more experience with goats and land to run them on.

Yes, they are herd animals and I would suggest getting more than one... mine is just a weirdo. He was a orphan and never knew a goat, so he is very happy with the chickens as a flock... but normally, they cry constantly until they get around another goat. That is how mine cries away from chickens. It's a heartbreaking sound.

Let's talk about fish!

Where are we going to have the picnic this time.

Does the Knoxville zoo have a place where we can have it?

In the mean time lets use it as a reference point, so we can find a good central location so everyone can come.

Enter your address and then report back on mileage.

I am 31 miles out.

Go back to Dumor... you do realize Dumor IS Purina, right? Again, I worked at TSC and honestly... it's not "kinda" Purina... is IS Purina packaged just for TSC.

You might be able to find a local feed store (mom and pop) who knows their stuff. I get my goat feed from East TN Feed and Seed because they have a special "home made" blend for goats that is perfect... but chickens... I choose Dumor.

I was a Southern States Coop store manager in Mebane NC for 5 years from 86 to 91.

If one of our feed mills was cranking out crap like I've seen in this sack, I would have drove to Durham and throttled the Feed Mill manager for the lack of any quality control.

You are only as good as the last sack of feed that you sold.

I wrote an email to the local location in Jonesborough with hopes that they forward it on to the regionial feed rep. for our area.

If they act on it or not, I hide and wait.

I've had the opposite experience here in Anderson County. Our co-op's feed quality is better than our TSC's Dumor feed. For whatever reason, the Dumor looks like it's been beat to death before it is on the sales floor. It's a shame, too, because I like the fact that the Dumor pellets are smaller. My big girls are fine with the co-op's bigger pellets, but my bantams are not fans.

I am buying Nature's Best organic feed from Agrisupply right now and paying a stupid amount of money.

I would love it if we could get together and buy a pellet machine. I've even been shopping around for a used one. There's GOT to be a cheaper, better way.

I'll have to miss this get together. My birds are all looking fine, but I love you guys (and your birds) to much to risk it.

Yes they live right on 411 approx a mile from town. Older couple. I never petted their goats, would only go see them if I was over there, they must not have handled them much if any. I would want goats that were gentle and handled. I assume it is enough work when you have tamed one, I wouldn't want some that I couldn't get around.

Ahhh, well I told hubby that if I got one, I would have to get two because they don't do well alone. I had one many years ago, when I was still in WV, it was a little billy. The kids opened the door and left it wide open, I walked into my bedroom and that crazy goat was on top of my waterbed! ROFL I didn't keep him long. Never tried it again after that, I have lots to consider before I jump into the fire, if I do. smile.png

God has blessed me.
