I was reading Wisconsin statutes for laws pertaining to the sale of eggs for when my small flock gets going and found a reference to the need to be licensed by the state if I want to sell the eggs from a place other than my property (like a farmer's market). Any Wisconsinites know the process, cost, etc for this?

I see this is an old thread, but I also live in Wisconsin and have the same question. (Found this while googling in circles seeking an answer... sigh...)

So far, from what I can tell, only a retail-type license is needed. I *think* this is the right one:

Still not sure, however. Wondering if you -- or anyone else out there -- might have more info?

Kindly,
Andrea

The WI dept of agriculture used to have a very easy to use website which contained all the requirements as well as license fees, it seems now that is gone in favor of a confusing and hard to find information website.

I know this is an old thread but I have pulled my hair out looking for this information in the past and have made a little headway by looking in the actual WI State Statutes, I was under the impression that selling at a farmer's market or having a delivery route required a license but it appears it doesn't, this may be a recent change and if so it is definitely for the better. Here is the statute:
