I'm in Suquamish. We have our first chickens now. They are still growing, but so excited to be outside...or have access to it, I guess.
Does anybody have any recommendations from their own experience of what vines are successful when planted near a chicken run? I'm concerned that they are going to peck anything I plant to shreds. I'm thinking that honeysuckle or wisteria are my best options. Any other thoughts?

chances are they will peck at any vine you plant near their coop. pick peas or something that they're allowed to eat if you aren't going to something plant gorgeous.

I'm in the silverdale/seabeck area. I got a question for others that are in our area out in the woods. My property is not fenced so I am building them a predator proof run.... I just don't know what i really need to get it predator proof i was going to just use hardware cloth but i had someone suggest cattle panels seem a tad overkill. What are you using and have you lost any chickens?

We're from south Kitsap county, Port orchard area, we've been chicken parents since 2010. We have small coop of seven adult hens, two baby chicks, and one rooster. Babies are about seven weeks old and the rooster is about 6 months old, the other hens are one year to five years.
Not new to the forum, but new to WA where I bought a summer house (reverse snow bird). Technically live in Phoenix, but in Port Orchard (near Fred Meyer) right now. Bought three chicks last night to start a flock here.
Anyone know the regulations for East Port Orchard?

Port Orchard, unincorporated area south. 12 in our flock, turning a year old next month. They are my COVID 20 project.
