Yesterday my large gelding stepped on my foot, thank goodness I was wearing boots. I heard lots of popping and a felt a burning pain but I can move it and it didn't turn black and blue which is odd because bruise easily. It is tender and I have good insurance but I HATE going to the doctor. Plus I can't imagine they would do anything for a broken foot anyways. Anyone want to chime in? To me, a foot is like a toe, it will just heal in time right?

Uh..no... lol... a foot is not like toe...
Can you walk on it? Can you wiggle EVERYTHING in it? Can you put full pressure when you walk?
If not... you need to go to the docs...

Nope, sorry. A foot is not like a toe - you can screw up your walk forever and end up with mobility problems. Get thee to the ER, dearie.

Last time my girl stepped on my foot I was wearing shoes about a size too big.... Thank goodness because she weighs two thousand pounds she only stood on my empty toe. I couldnt get far enough away from her to hit her for any effect. Every time I hit and said "GET OFF" shed wiggle her nose as if to say... oh scratch there again Mom.
If you can get some Arnica salve on it and give it some ice and it feels better after that I would worry too much. If it doesnt start feeling better at rest Id go see a doc. There are over two hundred bones in a foot any one could be damaged its up to a doctor to determine the extent.

Sorry to hear about your foot. But this did remind me of something that happened to me years ago when I was 17 years old. At that time I had an ingrown toenail that was terribly swollen and sore. Went to a team roping one night and was standing by a buddy who was mounted on his horse. Anyway, his horse stomped its foot and came down squarely on my bad toe. Felt like somebody had shot me in the foot. It crushed my toe so bad that it blew out the nail and it wound up healing after that. Sure was a painful way to get my toe fixed. But, to get back on point, if your foot is giving you problems, you should go see the doc.

Can I butt in with a question? Some time ago I dropped the corner of a bookcase on my foot. I did break one of the toes (that made number 4 so I knew it when I saw it) but after a day at work (we are not allowed to sit down on the factory floor) the ball of my foot is very painful. I have tried all sorts of insoles and they don't work any ideas?

I have broken my little toe before. Midnight run for the potty... foot went one way of the coffee table toe went the other. I just taped the little toe to the next toe thats about all a doc would do. But Sounds like you may have hurt something else. Did you go to the Doctor? If you go to the doctor he can write you an excuse. You keep standing on it and it will not heal like its supposed to. Fortunately for me I worked at a desk, even then it took more than a year for the soreness to go away.
