Black spots on Chicken's feet

Hi!

My now 1 year old chicken, Penny has these strange black spots on the bottom of her feet. My boyfriend thinks it could be bumble foot, but they aren't swollen or bleeding or anything like that. The spots are like black callus'. I took her to the vet to see what thye'd say and they said said they had never seen it before, so she was going to ring around to find out. I havent heard anything back yet, so i thought i'd ask here! Chicken people should know more than dog/cat vets.

Penny is healthy, lays, eats well and drinks. The spots don't bother her *too* much, but she will lift a foot up every now and then. They sleep on a flat timber roost, and are free range chickens all day. So she doesnt sit on wire or anything pointy. I thought it'd be best to try and treat the spots incase they become infected or something. The other chickens don't seem to have it, although one other has kind of worn areas on her feet, but not black.

That is most definitely Bumblefoot, an infection in the feet. Here's a good link on how to treat it:

That is definitely Bumblefoot, as it is most usually seen with a big, ugly black scab, or callus. If treated early on enough, it is completely reversible, so act fast.

I finally was able to track down some vet wrap and some iodine spray for animals to put on her feet. My self and my boyfriend got Penny inside, made her comfortable in the warm saline foot bath and then proceeded with her mini op! She was really relaxed and even nodded off a few times.. (until we poked a bit too hard) but she still was well behaved. after we finished i gave her some special treats.. tomato! (my chooks fav food)! Then we checked and did mini op's on a couple of the other chickens whom had tiny versions of the black spots. They're all got their own foot bling now! (blue wrap!) lets just hope they heal up nicely

My barred rock has a large black spot on her foot and a smaller one on the other one i thought it was just part of the foot she has had it for like 4 month its not red or swollen and i haven't noticed any limp . any thoughts?
