I have a four day old silkie that it's vent hole keeps getting plugged up with poop I keep cleaning it every couple hours and when I do it immediately has alot of poop that comes out what should I do to help prevent this?

First, ensure they are warm enough. Too cool of temperature can cause pasting. Second, be sure to use a good quality medicated starter. If the dropping still tend to cling then pull the feathers from around the vent and it will prevent it from happening again. No, it is not cruel or mean to pull the feathers. The chick may peep while you do it but will be forgotten within a few seconds.

If you don't want to pull the feathers you can clip them with a pair of manicure scissors and then coat the area with vaseline.

What area of the country are you in? Is it warm? A long time ago a neighbor told me how to prevent pasty butt. He didn't know how it worked but it does. I guarantee it. If you have grass in your yard that has never seen fertilizer, weed killer or pesticide take a trowel or small shovel, cut a 6 inch diameter circle and them dig down about 2 inches and remove the circle. Put it on a waterproof paper plate or something similar and bring it to room temperature. Put it in the chick brooder. They will be afraid of it at first but soon they will be climbing through it and eating little pieces of sand and dirt and other stuff. Within a day the pasty butt will stop.

Let me know if you try this and how it works for you.

I stArt mine on Manna Pro medicated chick starter.Don't know what's in it but my chicks all do well on it.
It as far as i know only comes in a small bag like 3 lbs but I just use it the first week or 2.I noticed mine would be pasty or runny sometimes but when on it it stopped.
just bought some chicks last week bowels were watery got the manna pro. Fine the next day.
Might help the pasty butt issue
