the last 4 days have been wonderful, the snow was almost gone. the hens were loving getting out into the yard again. Well today they were out when the snow started. after about 20 min. it was at least 2in deep and they started heading for the coop. after another hour it was 4 or 5 in. deep and I thought all were in but the one silly girl that was hiding under the coop and didn't want to walk to the door through the snow. It took me a while to catch her and get her in the coop, then I counted heads and found I was 3 short. GREAT! it is getting dark, were do I start looking? Oldest son was over with his (chicken friendly) dog. Logan had been sitting out in the snow barking for a while but he likes to bark at every thing so we didn't pay to much attention. Now I did, ok logan were are they? And sure enough he led me right to the poor things sitting under a bush by the driveway, they came out and scolded me for leaving them out in that horrid stuff. I managed to pickup 2 but had to go get help for the 3rd. she was not happy about being left behind but son came out as he was leaving and came to our rescue. The snow came down so fast I don't think they new what to do and it didn't stop just kept on coming. Love my chickens didn't want to lose any of them to the cold
