Sagitta Breed - Looking for Info

I got one Sagitta Pullet (supposedly) from my local feed store. Up until this week I've been fairly confident she's really a pullet. She's the sweetest thing, will just stand there and let me pet her and sometimes prefers to be sitting in my hand or on my knee instead of mingling with the other 8 chicks I have. This week though I noticed her comb has got really red and seems to be getting bigger faster than the other chicks. She's about 4 weeks old now. I really hope she's not a roo, because I don't want a rooster. I can have one, but I'm aiming for egg layers and not chick makers. And Sagitta is so sweet that I really wouldn't be able to eat her if she turns out to be a he.

Opinions?

This first picture my Sagitta with my Buff Brahma and my Barred Rock (all 4weeks old)

Sagitta is just so chill sitting on my knee

SO cute!
That much comb at 4 weeks - my guess is roo.

If you click on my 6 week picture on the previous page, you can see the two roos in the doorway of the brooder have similar size combs while the hens have very little growth at 6 weeks.

My Sagitta's are still fairly tame. The blacks tug at my pants legs when I feed them - to get me to feed them faster I guess; but don't try to pick them up - terror! The browns just kinda hang around waiting for feed. Our tamest chicken is a Brown. DH has her trained to stand on his hand (his way of holding a chicken).

Yup he was definitely a roo. Named him little John and he got a new home on a farm. I did get two more sagitta last summer and one of them, stir fry a is now broody. She may get some eggs to hatch

Seems to me, a considerable amount of time and $$ expense went in to the production of this breed.... That, to me, signifies a quality breed of chicken... Somewhat different than "backyard crosses" that are used in "home" egg and meat production on a routine basis....
Not saying one is better than the other... Just the progression to the final "breed" has some merit to it....

Sunny Side Hatchery doesn't seem to have them any more.

My local feed store still gets them (or at least did this year). I was going to get a few more, but decided not to. The two hens I ended up with after my roo are great layers. I rehomed one because she was a bully (worse than the rooster I raised last summer for jumping on the backs of smaller birds and plucking feathers). I kinda miss her laying, but her sister who I kept was a great momma last year and is super mellow. I think they are a great breed especially if you want a meaty bird after their laying years are done. Some may just end up more aggressive than others (I tell them their RIR is showing).
