The life of the self employed. Manhattan trip today. Made a phone call and had to run out and prepare for a 9 yard mulch delivery tomorrow for my wife. As I'm going out to the truck I hear a broody. Another broody had a hatch! I thought she was due next week!

This is her 1st time being broody. She was born last spring. Here she is with her 3 Sumatra fuzzy butts!

I'm always shocked how people take something typed on a forum so personally :) If I say it here I have done it. No Bull poop from me. I'm not arguing, I'm stating what I see in MY flock of 10 years.I'm NOT P.C. If that offends please just block me :)

Thanks!

I have an early pip.  What a nice surprise after a crappy day at work!!!

Yeah! Chicks soon!

I have had Mama 1-1/2 years and she went broody 3 weeks after I got her. So you have to figure she was at least 10 months old at that point. Maybe older. This is her 5th brood since I got her!

Mama is a really pretty girl, and a VERY good mama. She has earned her name!

uggg, broody caos. I think mama's daughter stole 2 babies. Mama moved her nest. I checked (more like risked my life lau.gif) mama has babies with her, but daughter has at leat 2. So I won't know till tomorrow what is going on there. The other broody decided she didn't like her safe nest because eggs were still in it. So I emptied out the nest. Then with safety glasses and leather gloves on, tried to pick her up. She ATTACKED! BUT, she brought her 3 lil ones to the safe nest. It is going to be a LONG summer. celebrate.gif

I know the roo and other hen she used to hang with. I don't know who's she was last year, but I do know she was born last year. She doesn't hang with Sammy or X Man, the 2 top roo's who have the older girls.
