Soundproof for rooster?

I put my rooster in a dog kennel inside at night with a dark sheet over and hes quiet until 6:30 7:30 am..it works for me and he doesn't seem to mind. Hes still out all day but I don't have any chickens just a rooster as he came to us by accident and we fell in love lol...He my pet and hes kind of a house chicken lol

I kind of wonder if we get a new rooster and get him used to his box within the coop from an early age, maybe he'll just go there when they all head into the coop at night.
mine do . its the routine that counts. every single night at the same time we have a routine

one issue is keeping the roos cool in an insulated small box on a warm muggy night.........................

perhaps a small rectangular, screened vent on the side away from the sensitive area. If you have sensitive areas on all sides then it could be more of a challenge.

one guy uses a dog crate and puts the roo in his mercedes benz. no kidding! in the trunk!!! no kidding.

funny about the car. hope he isnt in Fl. he could forget and kill it . What about a kitchen/bathroom hood vent ?
Maybe the garage would be better then. We could maybe run a fan. I wonder too, how large would the box need to be to prevent over heating of 1 bird. Good thing hubby is an HVAC engineer. He had me post when he was building our coop to ask what the air exchanges per hour in a coop should be.

I could see it being important for a huge flock, but we only have about 30 or so birds on average and their coop is over sized. Love that man though ~ he puts up with the chicken obsession.
what did you end up with ? i put mine in the garage every single night . one day i would like to take a vacation.

I built a noise reduction cage with three separate compartments to house my breeder pairs in and I have not heard any complaints from my neighbors yet. The cage is 96" X 30" X 34", I use 1" thick plywood on three sides and 3/8" fexiglass for the doors. For ventilation, I drill six 1" holes on the bottom half of the doors. Yes, you can still hear some noises but not at 20 + feet away, from my patio to all my neighbors' doors and windows is a little more than 20 ". If I put this cage inside my garage then there will not be any noise. A few pics of my cage to give you guys an idea of what I am talking about.

do you have pics of the entire cage?
Have you heard of the rooster collar? You can read about it here. I have no idea how well it works.

i use these. sounds not as loud crow not as long but they still crow.

I put my rooster in a dog kennel inside at night with a dark sheet over and hes quiet until 6:30 7:30 am..it works for me and he doesn't seem to mind. Hes still out all day but I don't have any chickens just a rooster as he came to us by accident and we fell in love lol...He my pet and hes kind of a house chicken lol
me too

We tried the No Crow collar and it only worked minimally. Our roo still crowed loud enough to disturb our neighbors, just not as frequently, and just a titch quieter. We kept adjusting it and readjusting it, but, never found it to be of much help, so we gave up and gave him to a lady that runs a livestock rescue.

I think it depends on the rooster. I have 10 roos right now that it works on. My favorite roo dropped dead on night and I swear it was from the crow collar. He wore it for months without a problem. He was a cocky rooster

. He wanted to beat everyone up and crow non stop. he would crow until he choked sometimes. I think he messed himself up crowing so much with it on.
