Maybe go back through the posts in this thread and check people's signatures.  Several are offering eggs for sale.  And there is always the buy-sell-trade here on bYC.  :O)

I'll be throwing more Legbar eggs in the bator soon.  Need to hatch more White Legbars.  Unfortunately, I'm hatching more roos then hens.

Thanks!  It is unfortunately now washed and in the fridge-its from my culled hen who is rooming with the swedish.  She was my first to start laying.  I'm now thinking I should have put in the incubator pile anyway, can you imagine if the bird in my profile pic layed this color egg!  Oh well, I don't have room for another project anyway.  tongue.png

I was just counting up my blue eggs.  My hen started laying a week ago yesterday and I have 6 eggs!  Not bad, especially since I moved her out of the legbar area during that time and it seems like every other type of chicken I have had stops laying for 3 weeks if I move them.

Same here...my pullet has produced eggs six out of the seven days since she laid her first egg.  One lacked a shell.  This is impressive to me, I had thought that the target in the UK for good egg production was 180/yr.  which would be everyother day.  I'm glad that Greenfire brought over strains that seem from this perspective to be good layers.

Chickens lay their best in the first 3 months of their first egg.  After that their production declines noticeably.  They also lay more eggs in the summer than the winter due to the longer hours of day light...so what you are getting now with 16 hours of natural sunlight a day and your pullet approaching her peak in production is going to be a lot better that what you should expect to be getting at the end of this December.
