The Legbar Thread! - Page 146

Yesterday I hatched my first legbars.  I got 4 boys, 3 girls and 2 of the light/yellow chicks.  I believe they are a boy and a girl.  I'll post pictures soon.

The difference between breakfast and chicks, is the temperature you use to "cook" the eggs!

What breeds do I have?  More than any sane person would own.

Argh!  Too many boys!  10 new chicks today, and only 3 girls.  Again, more boys than girls.  roll.png

Maybe you've discovered the genetic secret to hatching more of one sex than the other, and you just have to push that gene the other way, and the poultry industry will pay you billions, and then you can buy out Greenfire Farm's entire Legbar stock and import thousands of them yourself and never have to worry about sex ratio again.

Or maybe you're just having a run of really bad gender luck. I hope you get all girls the next time! :-)

Now that is one pretty little chick!  You may be starting a new color line.  I think that maybe there is something in the water there.... lol.

I used to spend time in Brunswick every Christmas visiting my in-laws (who have sadly passed on). If I still did, I'd drive to your place to buy chickens (and have a lot more fun doing so than visiting my in-laws).
