So excited my CL eggs came today from Jordan Farms.  I ordered CL and Lemon Cuckoo Orps.  They sent extras of both, I am super excited to get them going.  I am hoping for a good hatch!!!!  It will be interesting to see how different they look from the ebay egg chicks I hatched in June.

Please keep your fingers crossed for me and my eggs!!!!

Today is a gift that is why it is called the Present.

Let me know if I forgot any rules.  I'll post the first offer after I take some more pictures of my cream legbars tonight.

I need to ask some of you experts for some information.  My 16 week old pullet started limping last week.  She is now, "down on her hocks".. Do any of you know what is wrong with her and if there is anything I can do for her?  I have her in isolation right now.  It started with one leg and it seems she now has trouble getting up at all.  One thought was that she had a genetic disorder from her mother having poor nutriton.  Another thought is some kind of vitamin deficiency.  I thought at one time she just hurt her leg, but now her other leg is doing it.  Any suggestions?  If I have to put her down, how is that done?  When do I know if there is nothing else to do for her?????  Poor baby.  Have any of you had any experience with this type of problem?  She is the only chicken I bought from a local lady.  Thanks for any help.

Mother to 4 wonderful children, grandmother to 4.  1 DH (39 years), 1 pug, 1 Basenji, 1 dashshund mix (notice I put my DH in that same group! hahaha)  6 EE's, 1 Buff Orphington, 1 RIR, 1 Silkie, 1 Barred Rock, 1 Brown Leghorn, 1 Polish, 1 Welsummer.  Hope to fill my basket with different colored eggs!

He appears to be single barred.  That would explain the chipmonk stripes at hatch and the dark colors on the bird.   If so, his offspring wouldn't be autosexing.  He would only produce chipmonk striped chicks (Male & Female).

I am really wondering where CindyLee53 is getting these eggs from.  With that wild cresting I wonder if someone didn't use a Cream Barbanter to create an "American" Cream Legbar and pass it off as a UK heritage Cream Legbar. At any rate something doesn't seem right with the CindyLee53 strain.

Ive sent here a email asking the same thing and letting her know that a few people are having the same issue. So we will see if I get a answer. She might not have a clue as to whats going on and I know if it were my birds Id want to know..

I did not know there was a contest. I will have to get some better pictures of her and her mullet.

Are you sure that is a roo?  My roos (although they might not be pure...lol) have huge combs at 5-6 weeks.

This is one of my boys.  Perhaps because there is a chance mine are not pure they have faster growth??

I didn't get it as a day old, it was 5 weeks by the time I got it. A woman I know split the order of eggs from Jordans with a friend, 6 each. Supposedly ALL of the eggs she chose turned out to be boys idunno.gif. Originally I had 2 however one passed when we had the heat wave. Looks a lot like your pullet, lol. I guess time will tell!
