One of the reasons, and the main reason we all get together on this thread is because we care deeply about each other, and our families, & kids and cars & all the so called "dribble" you mentioned that has NOTHING TO DO WITH FOWL.................. but we love & care about each other.

If that bothers you, then, by all means, no one is holding you hostage here !

Try Birdbidforums....they rarely get into careing about each other.

Other than that, can't help ya.

I know for a fact a lot of the things that upset me upset others all over this country.

Yet, I don't expect to come on here telling others to start another thread or tell them they aren't respecting me no matter if it upsets me or many others.

Uh Huh, I could just feel all that love and caring oozing out of the comments toward CGG.  I got news for you, this thread is called "Washingtonians".  And that means it's open to EVERY Washingtonian.  Not just a select few that want to belong to a certain clique.  CGG has every bit as much right to express her thoughts and feelings on here as you and whoever else "we" is since by your own admission the "main reasons" you get together on this thread has "NOTHING TO DO WITH FOWL". 

So practice what you preach and give her (and the rest of "us") the same "equality and respect" that you give others.  You just got thru expressing your beliefs and specifically used the words "my god".  So allow her the same right.  Trying showing a little of that acceptance and tolerance that everyone is always pontificating about.  This is absolutely no logic in expecting that you can talk about your god and not allow her to talk about her God.

My hope is that everyone will understand that anytime anyone says they "believe" something, they are expressing their belief system.  One can call it a religion or whatever but it's still a belief system.  And Greg is absolutely correct.  This is the United States of America!  Despite what some would have, we are all still free to express ourselves and NOBODY has to check their belief system at the door.  And that includes Christians!

I'm looking at a photo of DH from before we were married but dating. We had been on a back pack trip with our Church college group. He is standing on a rock over looking a vast expanse of hills we're hiking in. Many years ago I put that photo in a frame and added that verse onto the photo and gave it to him as a gift. It was a very cherished gift. I just wish he would take it to heart these days as I do. But life goes on and we each do with it as we see fit.

 

I also was reading in Joel Osteens book "It's Your Time". And one statement he wrote about has really stuck with me. He said "God doesn't do things TO you. He does them FOR you". So bad things that happen may be perceived as bad but when we keep ours eyes on God and keep the faith we will see that those bad things end up having a silver lining. "All things work together for good"

 

Soooo, so much for preaching but just wanted to point out no matter how bad my life may seem I KNOW I am taken care of. Ever hear the story of 'Footprints in the Sand"? God walks with you side by side in the sand so there a 2 sets of footprints. Then one day there is only one set of footprints and we assume they are ours and we question God about why he abandoned us only to hear the answer that the one set was Gods and He was carrying us. All I got to say is God is my ROCK. Thats my story and I'm stickin to it!

That explains why I have lived in a storage (over my life time) shed with 3 men (varioues times), and birthed several children...and never once had so much as a BAND of a wedding ring~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I had land, and raised produce & animals.....and my kids...................in the wildness of Idaho.

In the process, I attracted loosers.

Just attracted yet more "user friendly men" everytime I asked for someone to come help harvest timber~~~~~~

Or fire wood................. or help side the house..........

 

From one day to the next I am so GLAD  it is being done FOR me.

My God, is not the same as yours, he  is not.

And in this content, it would be nice if one would not shove another's religion on anyone else.

So I find it would be really nic e if we all got along & quit saying OURS was the best ??

Cuz there is a million bazillion people here, and they all have their GODS

and who are we to say their GOD is not THEE God ?

You know what TF, your right, there are times when this forum talks about other stuff, and maybe that's because a lot of us have gotten to know others here through this forum and we feel for them, we support them, in chickens, in horse in sickness, ect.  And yes Greg this is America, I was so proud to be an American I decided to Serve for her, and I'm glad I did! If we weren't free, we wouldn't be able to have this discussion. Everyone has religious freedom here, and yes this forum is probably not the place to air that, and I don't think anyone in the last few post PUSHED anything, I have seen posts from others about other issues, I have posted my own. I come to this forum because it is familiar, and most of the time supportive of everything, and I have gotten to know many on this forum personally, I'm sorry the discussion doesn't always center on poultry ect. But, I for one am glad that I can come to a place where I have friends who, may or may not listen, may or may not have a response to my post, it's their prerogative.  And yes Greg there has been talk of drunks and chi-mos and pain and hurt, I personally apologize to anyone I may have offended or embarrassed with my recent ravings, it won't happen again.  I would hate to think that some of my friends on here would feel ostracized because they shared their illness and pain and we told them "you can't say that it's not about poultry"  Believe me when I say there have been some topics on here that made me want to jump in with two feet and get down and dirty, but I haven't, it just an opinion.  I hope  with all my heart that both you TF and Greg try to look at the good stuff that comes with this thread, and the very good people who are on it. I respect and admire both of you for your beliefs and knowledge. I hope we can all respect others who don't necessarily believe as each individual has the freedom to do.

OK here's some food for thought!.... if you don't like it leave... if you disagree with someones post then don't respond to it. Why does everyone feel the need to make things bigger then what they are. I am sorry but there is more to life then just chickens and water fowl. Yes this is Backyard CHICKENS... but once you talk n conversant with people you become friends. No where in the "rules" does it say you must strictly talk about chickens and only chickens. If you don't want to then that's your what for but doesn't give you the right to complain about others who are sharing their lives with their friends. *sighs* Looks like some ppl arnt getting enough attention.
