Well, that's not going to work: I had Malvina next to the Hamburgs for two days of get-aquainted time, after a week of being within eye contact, and when I put her in last night I wasn't prepared for Elvis to try to kill her when I went out to the pen at 10:30 this morning. She wasn't injured before, but as soon as I walked up and unfastened the door he tried to break her neck; she's featherless and bleeding at the base of her skull and was out cold for a while.

I was going to clean out her cage and put the elder EEs in it until I can finish their abode, but now I'm going to have to reassess.

Also, argh.

Hey guys! Sorry--just been busy with a sick baby--AGAIN! I am going to make it to Monroe! Got 1/2 day off work on the 16th, booked my hotel room and started banding birds already! I am still making the decision on who to bring to show...but my sales list is almost all spoken for, which is really nice!

I do still have a VERY nice pair of Mille Fleur cochin bantams (the nicest I've ever seen, in my (very) humble opinion! LOL I'm asking $100 for the pair but I'm open to offers.

Oh and a pair of LF GLC's. I hate to part with these guys...Clementine was my favorite hen out of any I've ever raised...and after losing her and watching Barnabus' comb slowly freezing off, I just don't want them any longer...I'm asking $50 to a good home for the pair. The rooster is 3 years old, the one hen is almost two. They are not hatchery lines.

Speaking of that--I was going through my stuff and I have another incubator I'm going to offer. I've had it since 2001. It's a Hova-bator, forced-air (aka turbofan). It's the old, square kind. It does have a new wafer in it (2011) and hatched out several batches of chicks for me last season. So it works well. The fan is a little noisy but it gets the job done. There are marks & dings on it from over 10 years of use and I've cleaned it up as best I could. It ain't pretty, it works just fine. I am going to part with it and will let it go with an almost-new auto turner for $75. If no one is interested, I'll just bring it to the show and try to sell it there. I just don't want to have to ship it.

I'm under the impression that BYC no longer communicates with Photobucket; it wants to click the image icon above and download from your hard drive.

I have never used photobucket???

I have to upload to BYC and then Copy & Paste the image (not the code) to BYC posts. In the Sandbox I could directly post from my harddrive, but not in the new BYC. So in essence it like the old BYC system, just more clicks.

It does seem to work with the image button, just not C&P, from your computer. I see, good to know. It will save me a bit of clicking. Thanks Stumpfarmer

Okay this it! I am off to Mesquite.

My dad accidently closed his green house one evening late summer a few years back, after a hot day.

he then had dinner & went to bed and both parents noticed how crows were gathering on all power lines in front & back of the house.

In the morning they awoke to hundreds of crows !

The cawing was ear splitting !

Dad was confused as what to do...they were all over his yeard, every tree, all over the lawn, even their lab would not go outside !

He braved the crows, and went out to open the green house to yet another hot day, and there inside, on the green house potting bench, was a baby crow, barely able to fly.

It hopped out, and disapeared, and the crow flocks flew away.

Also if the power goes out for no apparent reason and you hear lots of crows. It is most likely a crow that caused the outage commonly by shorting the transformer.

Well, Malvina is on her feet. I'm going to take her some nice warm oatmeal as soon as I get redressed. I'd once again gone so long without washing my hair that my scalp felt as if I was sprouting radishes (challenge: to what book am I referring?).

I know this is not chicken related but I have seen a few people post about bunnies and I was wondering if anyone breeds bunnies? I am looking for a Lionhead. Thanks

I click the photo icon, go on my HD album & click which I want to upload.

Never could do it from photo bucket.

Try again from your computer album & see if it works ?
