I would bring lunch just to watch the two of you guys move the shed.  And chicken math should never be ignored. 

 

We got the Ritz-Carlton Chicken Hotel of Enumclaw completely updated and it is now even more comfortable and customized than before. Here are pictures. I love having a clean dry run. 

 

 

So as I was starting to write this up, I realized that I hadn't checked to make sure that the Miss Tootoo and the children had gotten into the coop tonight. T

hey hadn't they were tucked up next to the fence in one of the few areas that are not covered in the run. So I tucked them into their corner of the coop, and went to check on Pierre and the Madams. I found two of the very intelligent Madams, but no Pierre or the other 2 Madams. The Silly gentleman and the 2 ladies were perched on a roost in the uncovered area of the run. So I guess I am thankful that I found them before they became even wetter than they were. I got a few squeals out of the group when I grabbed them, but overall the raid went down quickly, and all are now tucked into the nice dry coop.

Well I seem to be here alone for the moment, so I am off to see what other trouble that I can get into here on BYC. lol

just how big is that run?

It's 14 feet from the door to the back fence, and roughly 20 to 22 feet in length. Then there is a small walk area behind the coop. We set the coop out from the neighbors fence. The neighbors kids have a climbing swing set right next to the fence, so we didn't need the kids walking around the roof of the coop. lol The coop is only about 8' x 4' I manage to keep as many birds as I do because of the run size.  

The night crew chief is off to bed for what is left of the night. DH is off to Toronto Canada in the am, and is leaving me here with a rather crazy Russian. The Russian is also making all the nasty little English dogs a bit crazy also. One of the baby nasty little English dogs, has taken to cussing at the Russian. It's kind of cute to watch and listen to a 3lb baby pup bark and snarl at the 70 plus lb Black Russian Terrier.

Well, as I feared, HD doesn't carry mobile home style locksets, so somehow I've got to go to Grand Mound this week.

Stupid reality.

I have two doctor's appointments (annual checkups) and oh, yeah, a friend from Sweden visiting this week, so time for chicken coop construction and home maintenence is short. I have got to get out into the field and do close visual checks on all the cows today, too, since I've mostly been counting and verifying that they're all up and grazing as I do other things in the yard.

Sylvia has yet to lay an egg in 2012. I am displeased, while a timy part of me asks what I would do with more eggs now anyway.

What fun for you and the kids!  Will you be keeping all the chicks hatched then?
