We could put it back together, and DH would have a much more usable office space. Now I just need to list the daybed and trundle on craigslist.

I spent today getting a training assessment on Jet. We went to Bothel to the Academy Canine of Behavior. The first thing they saw was that Jet seems to be a Briard, or maybe a Briard mix. I have never seen a Briard that didn't have their ears docked before. He also doesn't have a tail. That seems to be extremely odd. I met the trainer's personal Briard, and there isn't any question in my mind about the fact that he is at the least mostly if not all Briard.

I am still going to need to find the right home for him. He needs a much more active home, and people. DH and I are getting to be to slow for a dog like Jet. We should also start with a puppy. I am a bit tired of puppies, but I now understand that we will all be happier if we have a very large dog, from the time it's about 8 weeks old. I have have too remember that most very large dogs don't live to be almost 13 years old.

Jet seems to get a very big kick out of teasing the nasty little dogs. This makes the nasty little dogs, a lot more nastier. Miss Gabby actually seems to scare Jet. lol

How much of a herder is he?

also, NO ONE is laying. I took the heat lamp out, maybe I will put back in a llittle light to see if that will kick start them. I have 6 in the layer pen. There will be more added this summer...but the one who was laying went broody - so I put serama eggs under her.

How long has she been laying them? Sorry dont remember. They also do this when they start up.

So I woke up and took care of my dog than smelt a really bad smell. he.gif  My LG I pluged in to heat up for my hatch this weekend was smoking!!! I ran it outside turned over the lid its the stupid therm in it. So now I get to see if all the smoke (which I know was bad to breath killed all my eggs in the incubator) Only time will tell. Im so mad! Oh and did I say I was up all night with the flu!!

I called her Dr's office today and described what happened, that she fell into the tub and landed upside down! I also read them the riot act for sending her home with no assistance. I am going to keep calling the Dr, the hospital, and her insurance until they either get her in rehab, or send someone out there to stay with her and train all her friends who are acting as caregivers (half of them are too old and are in danger getting injured themselves). She really needs someone strong enough to help move her with her 24/7.

Right now we are trying to get her contact people changed. Her ex-boyfriend who's moving out of the country in 2 weeks is the only one on the papers that the Dr. has. She and her daughter asked me to be the advocate, and the one to relay medical info and conditions, etc, and the DD and neighbor should be trained on propper lifting and assisting, and what warning signs to look out for. I'm afraid that she won't heal without proper assistance.

Your friend is very fortunate to have you willing to fight for her.  I know you felt bad about not being in contact with her for a long while, but don't you think that there are friends we may not see for years, but know that they still care for us no matter the time or distance between?  Good luck and strength to you as it sounds like you have a challenge in store for both of you.  hugs.gif

"fart eggs" are eggs without shells. They have the membrane though, holds them together. At least this is what I call them. I think "fart eggs" may be a number of different things though. Mine have layer, oyster shells and only have scratch when I throw it to them once a day...and a minimal amount. You can actually go and BYC search fart eggs and see photos. very odd looking.

Fart eggs are eggs with shells that a young pullet just begins to lay.

More often than not, the egg holds no yolk.

fart eggs can come in all sorts of bizarre sizes & shapes, and it all has to do with a pullet just beginning lay.

They all have shells, just weirdly shaped.

Eggs with no shells are a diferent matter altogether. wink.png

Edited to add a pic of a fart egg:

fart egg 001.jpg

So blurry, same egg:

In a Tablespoon.

I have had fart eggs shaped like a cresent moon, completely round, but all have been small...the pullet is "tight" and just beginning lay.

Because He  Shouldn't be laying any eggs!!!!gig.gif
I am not sure why some birds lay shelless eggs. I have one that does too. My solution is to cull the bird that I know for sure that is laying like that. There maybe health issues that are not apparent at this time. It is often cheaper and faster to replace the layer.

So what happened?

Last year my tomatoes were all planted, and I could tell which plants were which. Then came the Bliztkrieg of 2011. The puppies decided that thing were much to organized for their taste and I was left the aftermath of the battle. I never did get a ripe tomato last year. I came close, but zip in the end.

I think all of us women are already broody, that is why we are all hatching eggs.

But in our case it is called "Hactititis"   lau.gif

All my seedlings were huge some over 18 inches.... I built a PVC pipe greenhouse and moved them outside.... they were doing great.... UNTIL last night... we got 45 mph wind gust and well you can guess the rest.... Tomatoes gone, broccoli gone, peppers gone, pumpkins, squash and corn all gone....Along with all my flowers.... UGH Oh well I guess its only seeds I only lost about 15 - 20 bucks but a lot of time and effort. I was hoping to get a really early harvest of corn and a late harvest so I could can a bunch looks like that wont happen. :o(  I replanted tomatoes, peppers and pumpkins today... Gonna do 4 flats of corn tomorrow.... Hopefully they will do as well as the other ones. ( this is the first year I have ever started my plants from seeds) Normally I buy starts but my garden is 3 times the size and its very expensive. Oh well live and learn right

It is next to the incubator room, under a plywood box, with skovie ducks parked on top making poopies..............they love to sit on the box.
