Ok I am back! I will give you a quick review of what my doctor said and then I need to post a rant, not unlike some you have heard before, but, i have to get this off my chest!!

Ok my doctor said, after I told him what I had read and what the doc in Seattle had said (he read his notes too)

he examined me and said, he thinks it could be bursitis although he has never seen it go down the leg to the ankle before! He is going to TRY with all his might to get Walla Walla to ok a fee for service Cat scan locally.

Here's what he told me about going to Seattle for the pain shot, he said ask them if that's what they REALLY want to do?? Tell them that is not where the pain really is and if they think there is something else they can do?? If NOT ask them how long they expect the injection will take to work and how long it will last? And do they want me back?? In the meantime he is going to try to follow up on the case as he can and come back and see him in 3 months.  I know he was disgusted that the Muscular/ skeletal doc didn't insist on the hip cat scan again! I told him that I felt like I was screaming and no one was listening!!!  He said he sympathized that it was taking so long, and that if he was King I would have already had the MRI.  He said hopefully the Cat scan will tell us what we need to know, if not, he said take the pain injection like they want, then when it doesn't work they will be scratching their heads!!  Terry said we may just go out in town if they can't get it right after I get the injection!  I told my doctor, at no time did I tell this guy from Seattle that the main pain was coming from the SI joint! And he did the exam and saw where I pointed to and it wasn't back there!!    Anyway, let hope I can get the Cat Scan done BEFORE  I have to go to Seattle!

It didnt make it easier but I was able to get thru it knowing they had a good life, fresh air and didnt have to live in a 2x2 cage with 3 other birds and could stretch their legs and their wing. You have to fallow your heart if you cant bare the thought of them being eatten then I wouldnt do it. You need to be at peace with your choice and be able to sleep soundly at night. What do you do with your goats once they get old? Have you ever thought of just breeding around here and selling your babies at home? I have been looking for pygmies myself but I have noticed  there are A LOT of people looking for quality goats. And you can never have to many babies smile.png

We use to show our goats all over, have some nice stock. Im happy with just having them and no more breeding is fine with me.

Your goat babies are SO cute!!! I'd like to have the little black and white with the white hair on it's head.  What kind of goats are they?  Hey, I've got a fenced yard!  I mean, sure, I live in the middle of the city and I don't think we're allowed to have goats, but I am admittedly already a chicken outlaw.  (Supposed to have 4, but somehow I ended up with 12?)  Let's see... 1 acre divided by 4 + 48 chickens divided by eleventeen = ... Oh, I don't know.   I'm not good at math, but my CHICKENS sure are - just see how they've multiplied!

1 LS, 1 Barnevelder, 3 Ameraucanas, 1  Marans/LS X, 1 Salmon Faverolles, 1 BCM, and 1 Araucana, 1 Ameraucana/Marans X. 2 blue Imported English Orpingtons.  3 silkies in the VF bantam coop. Wife of one tolerant DH, Mom to Lily - a wonderful WSU college junior, Pomeranian Dasher, two cats, Ali and Dorian, and one Cockatiel.

RIP Sweet Gryffin - our perfect Golden boy.

Just wanted to say Hi. I am from Central Washington (Wenatchee). We had chickens when I was a kid but this is our first foray into keeping our own chickens.

I am a mom to two boys (6 & 8) and we have a dog and now 8 chickens. I laugh because that is twice as many as I started out thinking we would get. AND I was in Coastal Farm and Ranch today and it took all my willpower not to buy another chicken, two ducks and a goose! Oh, and also, the baby Banties are SO CUTE!!!!

Anybody else from Wenatchee?
